Disco de Ciccoco '07

Sunday April 1st was my roommate and good friend Ciccoco's 40th Birthday... We decided to revisit our past and have a skate party... Think... Olivia Newton-John (Xanadu) meets Linda Blair (Roller Boogie)... We rented a skating rink for the night, hired a drag DIVA to perform, grabbed the booze, and invited freaks, geeks, dolls with balls, fags and hags to the first annual Disco de Ciccoco... First annual, because it will happen again... We had so much fun... I highly recommend if you have a skating center in your town and a crazy bunch of people or unknowing B'day boy/girl... Uh...I'm just sayin'.
Let me give you a rundown of the evening... We get the rink starting at 10pm, from 7pm to 9pm they do roller derby... Hot chicks duking it out at high speeds... We assumed that from 9pm to 10 pm would be turn over (cleaning and prepping) for the next party, and we were told that we could come early to set up our party... So, I'm ready and in the car on my way to the skate center, my phone rings (actually vibrates, it's between my legs), It's Liz, the conversation goes like this...

Liz- Hey, where are you ?
Syn- Hey, I'm on my way there, should be 5 minutes.
Liz- You are NOT going to believe whats going on.
Syn- What?
Liz- They are having gospel skate.
Syn- What, What did you say?
Liz- They are having GOSPEL SKATE!
Syn- As in a Church Group?
Liz- Uh, Yeah...
Syn- You have got to be fucking kidding me...
Liz- Uh, No...
Syn- Do you know what I'm wearing ?
Liz - Uh, No...
Syn- My hair is all jacked up, red and black cat eye contacts, a red sleeveless T-shirt with the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse on the front, and black wings...
Liz- Shut Up... Hahahaha... LOLOLOLOLOLOL
Syn- I'll be there in a minute... Click
I get there...
Liz- LOLOLOLOLOLOL
Syn- How much longer will they be here?
Liz- LOLOLOLOLOLOL, Hehehehe, till 10 I think...
Syn- Shut Up.
Liz- We have to start setting up.
Liz- I'm going to start taking stuff in, oh, by the way, the ice machine is broken, We need ice.

Let me pause here... Did I mention that this particular skating rink is outside the city of Atlanta, in a small suburb... Stone Mountain... claim to fame... a general on a horse carved into the side of a large rock... They don't have very many people like us running around out there.
Anyway, I go and get ice... (only a few stares) come back and help set up... Kaori, who set up the entertainment and got the hottie photographer is sitting in her car with a HUGE grin on her face... I know now that we are going to hell... Actually, the church crowd was very nice, they actually held the door for me a couple of times, as I was bringing in my cooler of beer and liquor, and didn't bat an eye at the cake, which had a picture of Ciccoco from halloween last year in practically nothing etched in icing... Anyway the night went off without a hitch, Ciccoco had a great time and was very surprised... It was a memorable 40th for him, and after all, thats all that matters... I will post pictures as they become available... You have to see this shit for yourself...

Honey, you should have been right at home with the gospel groupies. Did you start singing old baptist church hymns?

and yes, post pictures...and post them soon! although, i'm not sure if the actual pictures can compete with the mental images i'm starting to form...

The ice rink at Stone Mountain? I have skated there with my Dad. I have just got to see pictures. The photo of me on my blog skating with my dad was taken there (hit the College label and it is called Ice Skating).
